Email 8: Hello from the Robertson's in Edmonton

Over the last few months, we have been sending emails out about Tiny to our family and friends. We decided now to post them on this blog as well. That way, this space can become a bit of a time capsule of the story God has written in our lives over the past few months.

Below you will find the eighth email that was sent.

Written April 18, 2016:

Hi everyone,

Well, we are officially moved up to Edmonton! There are dozens of people who pitched in to help us with this transition and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped out from making meals, to helping us pack, to cleaning, to helping with moving day,  to financial gifts, to everything in between... It was a total gift to have our community rally around us in this way, and this gave us so much confidence and peace as we made the transition.

We feel like we JUST got adjusted to a bit of a routine up here with David working and me checking off the list of final "to do's" before Tiny's arrival. Katelynn had another ultrasound here today and while everything is status quo with baby, the amount of amniotic fluid was a little on the low side which is a concern. As a result, we were a bit surprised when the doctors told us they want to plan to induce Katelynn on Wednesday or Thursday of this week!!!

Our first reactions were: shocked, freaked out, overwhelmed. We were REALLY hoping to avoid induction and had been given a lot of hope that this would be possible. I think we were also both feeling pretty optimistic that we'd have until at least next week before Tiny would arrive. This Wednesday also happens to be Katelynn's birthday and we kinda had special plans for that. As with most things in this pregnancy, those plans will likely need to be shifted (Katelynn the plan-aheader's favourite). Alas, these adjustments are minor in the scheme of things and at the end of the day, we want what is best for Tiny, so onwards we go!

After a bit of time to digest the news and get acquainted with this new reality, we're still feeling nervous, but are excited that we will get to meet our little baby sooner than we thought!! ðŸ˜Š That being said, we would really treasure your prayers over the next couple days as we wait to hear back on the timing of the induction, and for the delivery itself. We would be absolutely thrilled if labor would begin naturally in the next couple days so we can avoid the process of medically inducing labor. Please pray for God's timing in Tiny's arrival; they want to induce on Wednesday if possible because the surgeons Tiny will need are not as available over the weekend, so that is a bit of an added pressure as well. Please pray for safe travels for Katelynn's mom Nadine who will be coming up for the delivery and Tiny's other grandparents shortly after! Pray also for our family members who will all be processing what is to come in different ways. Please also pray for wisdom for the surgeons as they decide on the order and timing of the surgical procedures to repair Tiny's heart and gut.

Thank you so much for how you have loved us and carried us in your prayers up until this point. One thing we know for sure is that we and Tiny have been covered in prayer this whole way through and we are grateful to know this as we walk into the days where the most intense challenges finally begin.

One final note: our very dear friends Rory and Marissa have thoughtfully offered to start a GoFundMe page for us. This is an online fundraising tool that they have set up on our behalf so that people can donate to help cover the cost of our expenses while we are up here. There is absolutely no obligation, but if you would like to support us financially, you can do so through this medium. The link to the page is: https://www.gofundme.com/gotinygo
Thank you so much for all of your continued love and support! We send love and hugs to each of you and look forward to updating you soon after Tiny makes his/her debut!

Katelynn, David, & Tiny (who will soon have a new name!!)
